Form 1850 stamps of Austria were used. The first stamps issued for use in Hungary were issued for the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy on June 1, 1867. They are listed as Scott #27-33 under Austria. An independent Hungarian postal administration was created in May 1867 and Austrian stamps were withdrawn on May 31 and demonetized on 15 June 1867.

Krajczár is the Hungarian form of the Austrian kreuzer.

Stamps of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy were used prior to Hungary issuing their own.
