FICC mention in Swedish Philatelic magazine
« on: September 05, 2004, 08:35:17 PM »

I received a personal email from Patrik Medstrand (FICC #200) who lives in Sweden.  His note to me explains it all.  [The article is in Swedish, so did not attach it.]  Thanks Patrick.  PS, I believe Nick did something similar a while back, but I did not take the time to search through the Forum archives to locate the posting.

I attach a scan in a word document of an article with the title "Collect First Issues" published in the September issue of the Swedish montly stamp magazine "The Philatelist" (issued by the Swedish Philatelic Association). They published an article last month about collecting "ASFE - a stamp from everywhere". I wrote a letter to the author of that article and mentioned our club, home page and that membership included a newsletters about first issues. This month the author publishes an article on collecting first issues and they are mentioning our club. The article also deals with the problem of identifiying true first issues and that your home page contain a list which are aiming to classify many such issues. They also say that our home page is very nice and that membership only is $9 per year. Even though you cannot read the article, I thought it would be nice for you to know that first issues are getting attention from other parts of the world.

Great news, and thank you Patrik Grin

I'd be interested to see the article, since I can read Swedish. If there's anything of broader interest I'll happily translate it, or at least give a brief summary.
