micrometer! anybody use these
« on: January 26, 2006, 11:14:48 PM »

The deeper I get into philately it seems with some issues (e.g.Austria, Baden) I am going to need to know the paper thickness. Does anybody out there use a micrometer for philately? If so which kind would you recommend? I obviously want accuracy but I don't want to damage my stamps.
Thanks Patrick

Patrick,

Welcome to FICC...  Sorry I can't help you on this one.  I've never attempted to measure paper thickness by a micrometer.  I did a simple Google search on "stamp thickness" and the following sites popped up.  I know nothing about these sites/products, so do not endorse anything on them.

Another place to post this question is in the newsgroup rec.collecting.stamps.discuss.
